Mold Remediation

Mold doesn't wait. Neither should you.

Mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours of water intrusion. Bullfrog's licensed team removes it, treats your HVAC ducts for airborne spores, and seals the water source so it can't come back.

Why mold needs to be dealt with now

schedule

The clock starts at water intrusion

Mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours once moisture is trapped in your walls. Florida's humidity makes that window even shorter. Every day it sits, the remediation scope grows.

Spores travel through your HVAC

Once mold starts growing, spores become airborne and circulate through your duct system. Surface removal alone doesn't fix this. The ducts need to be treated too.

It's a health issue, not just a smell

Mold exposure causes runny nose, itchy eyes, persistent coughing and worsened asthma. Symptoms that get better when you leave the house and come back when you return are a reliable sign of indoor mold.

What we do that most companies don't

Most mold companies remove what's visible and close out the job. If your HVAC has been running while mold was present, spores are already in the duct system. And if the water source isn't fixed, the mold comes back.

  1. 1

    Full inspection

We identify all visual signs of active mold growth. We test for highly elevated moisture levels within walls, as this indicates a strong probability of mold within the wall. We can also inspect inside a wall by drilling a small hole and using a borescope inspection camera with light.

  2. 2

    Containment

Areas to be remediated are isolated to prevent the spread of airborne mold spores to other areas of the home. We utilize IICRC containment protocols.

  3. 3

    Removal and treatment

Mold is removed and affected surfaces are treated with antifungal agents. Porous materials that can't be cleaned are safely disposed of.

  4. 4

    HVAC duct treatment

We replace your HVAC filter and fog antifungal vapor through the duct system to kill airborne spores circulating through your home. Most mold companies skip this step entirely.

  5. 5

Source check — and fix if needed

If water is still getting in, the mold will return. Our team checks whether the foundation needs to be sealed, and can handle foundation waterproofing in the same project.

Once the water intrusion is stopped, time to remove the mold.

Most remediation companies remove the mold and move on. If the water intrusion has not been properly addressed, the mold is back within weeks. Bullfrog is one of the only licensed Mold Remediation companies in Florida that also specialize in foundation waterproofing.

Not all companies who work around mold are licensed to remediate it. Florida requires a separate mold remediator license, ours is #MRSR5565. The license requires a level of experience and training to acquire. It also governs how work is to be done, such as the standards for the containment we build and who is legally responsible for the outcome.

Common questions

How much does mold remediation cost in Orlando?expand_more

Mold remediation costs depend on the size of the affected area, how deeply the mold has penetrated into walls, ceilings, or HVAC systems, and the materials involved. Because every situation is different, there is no flat rate. Bullfrog provides free on-site inspections so you know the full scope before any commitment.

Is mold remediation covered by insurance in Florida?expand_more

Florida homeowners insurance typically covers mold damage when it results from a covered peril, such as a burst pipe or appliance leak. Florida policies often include mold coverage up to $10,000. Mold from long-term water intrusion or flooding is usually not covered. Bullfrog will assist with insurance communication when it applies to your situation.

Can I remove mold myself?expand_more

The EPA recommends DIY cleanup only for affected areas under 10 square feet on non-porous surfaces. For anything larger, mold inside walls or ceilings, mold in HVAC systems, or if anyone in the home has respiratory conditions, professional remediation is necessary. DIY attempts on larger areas often spread spores rather than contain them.

What are the signs of mold exposure?expand_more

Common symptoms include runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, scratchy throat, persistent sneezing, and worsening asthma or allergy symptoms. Symptoms that improve when you leave the house and return when you come back are a strong indicator of indoor mold.

How long does mold remediation take?expand_more

Most residential projects take one to three days depending on the size of the affected area and whether walls need to be opened. Bullfrog handles inspection, containment, removal, HVAC duct treatment, and air quality restoration in one project.
